Eagle County Schools Board of Education is inviting the public to attend a meeting at 3:00 on Wednesday, October 25th at the school district offices in Eagle to learn more about a proposed charter school, The New American School.

The New America School, which was founded by State Board of Education Vice President Jared Polis, submitted their application to the Board of Education on October 1st.  If approved by the Board, the charter school would open in Eagle County in the fall of 2007.

The New American School is designed to meet the needs of new immigrant students not currently enrolled in school.  The curriculum focuses on language acquisition for new immigrants ages 16 – 21.
