Eagle County Schools announces ‘Red Table Early Learning Center’

Gypsum, CO—Eagle County Schools is pleased to announce the exciting addition of the future Red Table Early Learning Center in Gypsum. The Board of Education approved funding of this wonderful new facility on May 14, 2008. The anticipating grand opening will be right around the end of November or beginning of December, depending on construction and licensing.
Eagle County Schools is partnering with Eagle County and Bright Start to open this child care center, which will serve 50 children aged six weeks – five years. This facility, which will be open year-round (excluding major holidays), will have four classrooms that will cater to eight infants (aged six weeks – 18 months), ten toddlers (aged 18 – 36 months) and 32 preschoolers (aged three – five years). The anticipated hours and days of operation are Monday – Friday from 7:30a.m. – 5:30p.m.
For initial enrollment, a lottery drawing will be open to the public on November 6, 2008, at the new District Office in Eagle on Chambers Avenue at 9:00 a.m. In order to be eligible for the lottery, applications must be turned into Eagle County Schools’ Early Childhood Department by 4:00p.m. on Friday, October 31. Applications will be accepted via any one of the following three options:

It is important to point out that there are six slots that are reserved for children of ECS students, six slots reserved for children of ECS employees and four slots reserved for Eagle County employees. In addition, 16 slots are reserved in the preschool for children with special needs and those enrolled in the Head Start/Colorado Preschool Program.
The necessary paperwork will be available at both District Offices (Chambers and Third Street locations), the New America School in Gypsum and each of the elementary schools on the West end.
