The public is invited to attend Board Meetings and provide input to the Board at the beginning of each meeting,and when related to an agenda topic. Presenters are asked to fill out a simple card for follow-up, and requested to limit their input to three minutes. The Board cannot engage in a discussion nor provide an immediate response to the input. Rather, the Board can benefit from hearing the input and determine what follow-up action is required. This could include a future discussion, work session, or additional research, and then followed by an official Board response.
The Board of Education's Ends-oriented Policy expresses the Board's expectations and hopes for students outcomes:
Students are inspired and able to reach their individual potential, will acquire a passion for life-long learning, the desire to succeed, and the ability to participate and contribute, both locally and globally, as a competitive and responsible citizen and community member.
