*All students in grades 3-5 will be required to complete an independent study, on a topic of the student’s choice, in the last several weeks of EAGLE classes.
All students have the opportunity to propose a study in their area(s) of giftedness, other than the options listed above. Please encourage your child to discuss other areas of interest with her/his EAGLE teacher.
We use the International Baccalaureate inquiry model to present engaging and in-depth curriculum, in the EAGLE program. Please refer to the link below for more information about the IB program.

- Study of an art form and artist, with a culminating project requiring the creation of an original piece of art in that style.
- Invention or Innovation, the creation of an original invention or innovation
- Original Music, students may choose to create an original piece of music using Garage Band and/or real instruments to present at the end of the year.

- Hands-On-Equations, is a kinesthetic (“hands-on”) approach to teaching the basic concepts of Algebraic problem-solving.

- Challenge Math & Continental Math League, programs that offer advanced problem solving opportunities.

- Write an original story or informational piece, to be illustrated and bound (2 copies will be made, one for donation to our class/school library, and one for the student to keep).
- Battle of the Books, provides a list of approximately 35+ titles of high-quality literature for students to choose from. Students read 15-25+ titles from this list and become part of a team that competes against other teams answering questions about each novel.
