Welcome to Eagle County Schools!

Eagle County Schools is excited to host Kindergarten Informational meeting for families to learn about the kindergarten experience and prepare for registration. Children entering kindergarten for the fall of 2013 must be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2013.

Kindergarten Informational Meetings:

Find out more about each one of our elementary school's unique instructional programming, community partnerships, before and after school activities, dedicated staff and more. Meetings will take place at each individual school. Please call your local school for additional information and to schedule an appointment.

Kindergarten Registration:

At each school's Kindergarten Registration, parents will have the chance to complete enrollment paperwork, meet with the Principal and tour the school. We ask that you attend the Registration scheduled at the school location within your attendance zone (attendance zones can be found on our website under the Schools tab). If you want your child to a school outside of your attendance zone, a variance form will be processed AFTER registering at your designated school. Eagle County Schools will then transfer all information collected at Registration. Variance requests are due by March 15, 2013, requiring registration prior to that date.

What to Bring to Registration:

  • Certified state birth certificate
  • Immunization records
  • Proof of residence

Additionally, it is helpful, but not required, to bring the child's Social Security Card. It is also recommended to bring a recent photo of the child. Proof of income is needed if applying for free and reduced lunch programs.

Below are dates and times listed for each school's Informational Meetings and Kindergarten Registration. Please contact your local school if you plan on attending.

Please call your local school for additional information and to schedule an appointment or secure a spot.

All Day, Everyday Kindergarten:

  • All Kindergarten classes in Eagle County Schools operate as full-time, five day sessions. Attendance in the full-time program is not required, but is highly recommended.
  • Data compiled by Eagle County Schools supports research done at a national level, which shows that students who attend full-time kindergarten are more successful in school.
  • The State of Colorado only funds kindergarten as a half-time program.
  • The full-time program charges tuition of $250 per month to cover the state funding shortfall.

Half-Time Kindergarten:

  • For families who elect not to attend full-time kindergarten, a half-time option is still offered.
  • Half-time kindergarten will be offered every day, mornings only, from 8:00am to 11:30am.
  • Literacy and numeracy will be the focus of the morning program, including language development.
  • Half-tim students will receive the benefit of a consistent 5-day a week program and they will be integrated into full-time classrooms.
  • No transportation will be offered at the end of the half day. Parents will be responsible to pick up children.
